Lead Pastor

Pastor John joined Piñon Hills Community Church in 1995. He has a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, a Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary and a Bachelor of Biblical Science from Western Bible College.

Pastor John’s personal life mission is to redeem leaders. This passion is brought out through his teaching. Each weekend he focuses on relevant messages that make day-to-day Christian living tangible. Pastor John is a visionary. His vision and the vision of Piñon Hills Community Church is to REACH people for Christ, GROW people in Christ and SERVE people through Christ. When we REACH, GROW, SERVE, we can shape the culture of the Four Corners…and the World!

He is the author of Horsepower: How Leadership Works, and the co-author with Steve Johnson of How to Discover Your Personal Life Mission: Finding Your Passion and Living Your Dream, a book which has been used to help thousands of people find clarity and direction for their lives and their careers. He is also a contributing author to the book Organizational Design, Levels of Work & Human Capability by Ken Shepard. John currently serves as the instructor of The Professional Development Leadership Course through the Pinon Hills Leadership Center.

John and his wife Greg have five children: Carolina, Will, Gibson, Jimmie Nell and Mia. In his spare time John enjoys saltwater fishing, cooking, reading, writing, building and DIY projects.
